MPIBA Education Committee
The purpose of the MPIBA Education Committee is to design and implement bookseller educational programming for MPIBA in-person and virtual events.
Qualifications & Committee Make-up:

The committee will have 10 members, which will include two board members.

Committee members should have at least one year of experience in the book business.

Owners, staff, and representatives of MPIBA Active Members in good standing can serve on the committee.

The goal will be to maintain a representative cross-section of current bookstore membership, including diversity of ownership, location, store size, store model, etc.

Committee members should be regular attendees at MPIBA events (virtual and in-person), and be knowledgeable about MPIBA programs and membership.
Expectations of Committee Members:

Serve 2-year terms (maximum of two consecutive terms).

Work collaboratively with the committee via email and virtual conferencing during the winter, spring and summer months.

Attend SpringCon and FallCon (at least one event per year of service).

Gather feedback from colleagues and fellow members

Spend approximately 25-30 hours a year on Education projects, including time dedicated to producing sessions at the conferences and for Bookseller Summer School.

Committee members are responsible for fashioning all education sessions, selecting topics from member-submitted proposals, creating and customizing sessions, and securing contributors. They will also communicate with MPIBA staff, providing session details and materials for promotion on the MPIBA site and in the show program.

At the conferences, committee members are expected to coordinate and monitor sessions with the assistance of MPIBA staff and volunteers.
