Professional Booksellers School
The Professional Booksellers School was established to change bookselling. They offer both basic/introductory and sustained high-level professional development for bookstore staff – a first in the industry.
Courses are designed and taught by experienced and successful owners, managers, buyers, and event staffers to help booksellers master job-specific skills and knowledge. Instructors and students come from all across the U.S., and course Certification Badges are evidence of dedicated, advanced learning; those who earn them are prepared to make their stores more profitable and to create careers for themselves in the industry.
As part of MPIBA's dedication to bookseller education, we offer yearly financial support to the Professional Booksellers School to support their mission.
MPIBA offers discount codes for PBS core courses and independent study. Contact us for the code before registering for a course, and make sure your store's MPIBA membership is up-to-date. MPIBA will also reimburse Active Bookstore member stores for the tuition of any staff member completing certification in one of the basic courses (Basic Bookselling, Event Management, Inventory Management, and Store & Operations Management) — after a store’s first year of free membership.
